December Community Newsletter

December: Wrapping up 2025
Thank you for joining us here in 2025😍
As we move towards the end of the year, I hope that you'll find pockets of time to reflect upon the year past, and in addition, find opportunities to celebrate the big and small wins you might have come across.
The biggest win for me this year was finally taking the step to go full-time at Shapes and Sounds, after almost 4 years of juggling part-time roles.
It was a big risk but one that paid off... and I'm grateful to share that we're set to continue our work to support communities in 2026.
We actually have a HUGE project that's in the works (but we're not allowed to announce it until December 12th 😆) so please keep an eye out on our socials as well as our January newsletter where we'll reveal all.
We'll be offline from Dec 19th - Jan 5th so we look forward to reconnecting with you on the other side!
Have a lovely Christmas (if you celebrate) and a beautiful transition into 2026!
❤️ Asami
Mental health resources
This month’s resource explores intergenerational trauma and how this might show up in Asian family dynamics and communication styles. This was inspired by our thought provoking conversation with clinical psychologist Vi Tran on the Asian Mental Health Podcast.

These fact sheets aim to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and offer practical insights for your wellbeing. They’re all free on our website so keep an eye out as we're currently sharing one new resource per week!

Recently in social media land,
Creative Arts therapist Stef Kam shared their thoughts on the systems which shape our mental health. Though experiences of mental health are personal, these are heavily shaped by the sociopolitical context which we find ourselves in. Stay tuned for more content on our Instagram!
